TLDR; Resume-to-Profile turns a user’s resume into a structured LinkedIn profile by automatically parsing and routing content into the right sections. Users review, edit, and AI-optimize everything before publishing, helping them reach a more complete, discoverable profile faster.
A friend of mine kept puttnig off making a LinkedIn profile for over a year.
Not because they didn't want one, but because a blank profile with eight empty sections felt like homework nobody had explained.
LinkedIn is the default professional network: ~1.2 billion registered members as of early 2025, and FY2025 revenue around $17.8B across three engines: Talent Solutions (recruiting), Premium subscriptions, and Marketing/ads.
The 18–24 cohort is already its second-largest age group, and student/new-grad onboarding is a strategic priority because early accounts compound into decades of recruiter monetization.
The feature I care about lives at the very top of the funnel: profile creation.
Why? Everything LinkedIn monetizes depends on a populated profile existing in the first place.

LinkedIn's own data says complete ("All-Star") profiles are 40× more likely to receive opportunities, yet only ~51% of profiles ever reach that bar.
Half the platform is leaving the 40× multiplier on the table, and the cold-start (blank page) is the biggest reason newcomers stall.

Building a LinkedIn profile from scratch is a high-friction, blank-page task, and the people who most need a profile (new grads, recent students, early-career) face the steepest version of it, even though they already own the exact input required: a resume.
The "attempt": LinkedIn once had resume→profile autofill and had to let it go primarily because 2010s keyword parsing produced garbage, and because manual entry yields cleaner structured data and more sessions.
"Start from your resume." A first-run (and re-runnable) flow where a new user uploads a resume and an LLM does two jobs the old parser couldn't: (1) parse the content, and (2) route each element to the correct LinkedIn section and then presents everything as editable cards for review before anything goes live.
Step 1: Resume upload (PDF/DOCX)

Step 2: Parse resume
